"Our teachers are very excited about the new WriteSteps program! We were given a password to use to see what they thought in the fall and we couldn't get the new edition fast enough! We used Title II funds to get the new kits at the beginning of February. It is so user friendly that they have been able to use it the last six weeks on their own and will meet Friday to do the training and have their questions answered. It is also completely aligned to the common core, so they are learning about the new expectations in the process. It is the first time I have heard our teachers excited about writing. They LOVE it!!"
~Melissa Koenig, Principal/Director of Elementary Instruction~

"My kids who learned WriteSteps in first grade are very, very positive writers. All my students are very excited and enthusiastic about the program. I am grateful for this program. It has created a positive learning experience for writing in our school."
~Katie Guerin, 2nd grade teacher~

"Our teachers are so happy with everything so far. They are seeing growth they cannot believe. One first grade teacher says she has seen more growth in the last month than she saw last year overall. Wow!"
~Piper Bognar, Elementary Turnaround Director~

"The thing that I found most helpful about the program is that it creates organized thinkers… It transfers across the content areas, and the students are able to take that knowledge and use it when they’re organizing writing for social studies or science."
~Jasmine Crout-Jackson, 5th grade teacher~

"The WriteSteps program has been phenomenal for these kindergarteners because I really see an excitement about writing. Almost daily, they’re choosing on their own to get a piece of paper out and to draw their own picture plan, and to write on their own just as a free choice."
~Melissa Wood, kindergarten teacher~

"I found WriteSteps to be wonderful. It’s laid out for you, easy to use and all the materials are there. The kids love it. You have a core lesson every day, with a skill to work with. I highly recommend it."
~Mindy Dipple, 4th grade teacher~

"This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for responding so promptly. You have made a friend for life Arlynn. I will keep you posted on the implementation of the tips below."
~Trent Mosley, Principal (in note to WriteSteps coach)~

"The planning sheets and graphic organizers are a tremendous help in the classroom. They start using the five-square paragraph organizer in third grade, and in fourth grade, and when they come to fifth grade they know how to use it really well! Fifth grade students have great ideas. They just need some assistance on organizing and sequencing the ideas."
~Allyson Dewar, 5th grade teacher~

"We’re really excited about WriteSteps. My kids love writers workshop. There’s only one day a week I don’t do it, and when we’re not doing it, they get really upset with me – it’s kind of a reward for them."
~Julie Wegner, 4th grade teacher~

"WriteSteps is so solid, so sequenced and so organized. Daily lessons prepared for the teacher include the Common Core Standards with lots of supplemental materials like on-line support, privacy folders and four-color pens."
~Marilyn Schroeder, 2nd/3rd grade teacher~

"When I received the Write Steps program, I was really excited. I had the feeling I was connected to the person who put this program together, because it felt like a teacher talking to me."
~Elizabeth Williams, 3rd grade teacher~

"I’m excited about having the web-based, core-standard curriculum because they’ll be able to use it with the advanced technology we have here at the school."
~Dr. Paul Merritt, Principal~

"I have a little boy who could not even write his own name at the beginning of the year. His work was pictures only. By spring he was developing his own sentences. And the best part for me now is watching him develop his writing skills at free time – not when I’m asking him to do it."
~Suzanne Rocka, kindergarten teacher~

"I just wanted to tell you THANK YOU for your support in our last meeting and providing a framework for the remainder of the year…When we are finished I would love to share some of my students’ writing with you."
~Deanna Hull, 4th grade teacher, to WriteSteps coach~

"We are revising our SIP and I want to be proactive with our PD needs. How can we keep you on board to ensure that all of my teachers are highly effective teachers of writing?"
~Candis Thomas, Principal, to WriteSteps coach~

"The web-based program is phenomenal. I love integrating technology in the classroom. And now we have the ability to do that with WriteSteps."
~Allyson Dewar, 5th grade teacher~

"I get so much more from an hour with you than 5 hours in a big group!"
~Therese Rains, 2nd grade teacher (to WriteSteps coach)~

"Being new to kindergarten, there were a lot of things I was a little uncomfortable trying, but writing was definitely the thing I felt the most nervous about. I couldn’t imagine how I was going to turn these little five-year-olds into writers. The program really helped me with the videos. Being able to watch someone else teach the lesson made me feel so much more comfortable."
~Melissa, kindergarten teacher (formerly 5th grade)~

"With all the demands on teachers’ time, it’s great to have a program like WriteSteps that is completely core-standard compliant, so that they are teaching students what they need to be teaching them at each grade level."
~David Meloche, Instructional Coach~

"I know I've said it before, but the customer service with WriteSteps is amazing! I know I can always count on you guys to get back to me right away which means so much."
~Missy Woods, K-8 Literacy Coach~

"Thank you so much for responding to my e-mail right away! I am very pleased with the Write Steps writing program! What makes it so great is that our students remember certain concepts that we established last year-already! Woohoo!"
~Jennifer Sestak, Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (2nd/4th grade)~

"The more I work with your materials, the more excited I get! Again, thank you for all of your assistance. I wish you could see the enthusiasm in my writing class!"
~Kay Reppen, 5th grade teacher~

"I have done a lot of research on writing. WriteSteps provides the materials and lessons consistent with all the writing programs on the market."
~Bridget Heyblom, West Michigan Academy of Arts and Academics - 1st grade teacher~
